Mitsubishi focus on customer recovery after Japanese TSUNAMI disaster
First of all, we express our deepest sympathy for all victims of Eastern Japan Great Earthquake Disaster. We sincerely pray for the safety of all those affected by the disaster and for recovery of all regions as quickly as possible.
It has passed 3 months since the disaster occurred, and circle of activities and aids towards recovery has been growing.
In the circle, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Co., Ltd. and its group companies have also been contributing to helping the victims by dispatching personnel to the thermal power plants inside the premises of Tokyo Electric Power Company and Tohoku Electric Power Company for early recovery of the electricity supply amount. At the same time, we also provided monetary donations as a company and established found to raise money from our employees as well as participation in volunteer activities, providing both physical and material supports. Concerning IGAS2011 to be held in September this year, we have been prepared for this because we believed that this would encourage many customers including the victims looking forward to this exhibition while providing the supports explained above for actively promoting activation of the economy for recovery.
However, the target amount for reduction of power consumption 15% in the area with electricity supplied by Tokyo Electric Power Company was publically informed, and this made things changed. Many companies in this area are expected to change their working time or day-off in summer time, and this means it will take quite a while to recover.
Judging from such situations comprehensively, we finally reached the conclusion that we decline to make a presentation in IGAS2011.
We will continue to provide supports to customers suffering the disaster for recovery, and at the same time, we will hold user meetings and annually exhibition for giving more information to the customers and people in the field of printing.
